I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus

Well. ..it’s not that bad.  It’s just that I got sick on November 11th- with a terribly sore throat.  Then a cold came along paired with a cold sore (it’s been quite the season. ..hasn’t it )? And for a week I’ve been convincing myself that I’ve turned the corner. ..but this morning my nose is running like an open faucet & my head feels full of stuff. Needless to say I am looking forward to a quiet weekend followed by a much more energetic week . 😆
On a happier note,  Ivy has presented 3 new words to us this week:
– muscles.  Grandma- do you have an explanation for me on this one?
– salad. Which is hilarious because Ivy is not a good vegetable eater. ..not sure where that is coming from.
– zombie. I kid you not.  I was driving her home from day home yesterday & she was telling a story about a zombie.  We do not watch zombie shows at my house so I’m thinking an older kid at day home? !

What could be better than enjoying the first snowfall of the season? Ivy loves running in the snow. ..& of course falling down in it too.

Fall Fortune

Thanksgiving is one of my favourite holidays & this year I celebrated twice.  Before the long weekend my Aunt Martha & cousin Al came up for a quick visit.  I’ve no photos as Aunt Martha was the only one snapping away.  Ivy is still singing ‘happy birthday Martha’. And no,  we weren’t celebrating any birthdays. ..

Maybe Ivy also loves this time of year.  More likely Ivy is simply at the age where breaking out into random songs is not only acceptable,  but adorable.

Goofing around

Ivy had been accused of “hamming it up” from a young age.  She had become quite the entertainer. ..
She loved halloween this year & was a rather perfect pirate if I do say so myself.  We didn’t even take her trick or treating because she was having too much fun giving the candy away.

The photo below was taken the day she first proclaimed she was a princess.  She made a convincing argument to go back inside the house by removing her toque,  mitts & jacket.  Sigh. Even grandma described her as being ‘wilful’ today.

We celebrated Zambia independence day (Oct 24) by visiting the South African store that sells many of our favorite African treats.  Ivy had her first “fizz pop”. We also visited 1 of Alvin’s Zambian friends & his 3 week old baby & wife.  We always have to do something to mark the day as we both miss Zed often.
